Should I confront my mother-in-law for showing favoritism toward her other grandchildren?
My husband and I have been together for 8 years and we have two wonderful boys ages 4 and 8. My mother-in-law is a very Godly woman and easy to get along with. She has another grandson, 5, that I feel she favors. The reason being, she has been to every one of his baseball games,(she only went to one of my sons basketball games) she is always keeping him, always loves on him. She basically sees him twice as much as she sees my boys. We all live within the same distance too. There are just little things I’ve noticed that would suggest to me that she favors her other grandson over my two. I know she loves my boys very much, but It still bothers me and hurts my feelings. Should I bring this up to her or will it cause conflict? Or is it just in my head?
You should bring this up with her. Let her know how you feel, it is possible that she doesn’t realize that someone has been slighted. A rule that my own grandma used was do for all the kids the same that way noone feels left out.
